Doom 3 has let me down!

Well I loaded it and was getting ready for some great game play......WRONG!


I must first comment on the graphics I am playing this at the HIGH setting, WOW! This game has the best graphics I have seen to date and the sound is top rate, some of the effects in game are cool and the monsters are brill.

Now onto the game play, once you get used to the shock factor of the graphics only the game play will keep you hooked and so far I am finding it boring.....it's the usual thing locked door, find code, open door, next door, up ladder. You cannot go wrong with the map, you sometimes see a guy working and he's to busy to help you. Your RAMBO (ie. on your own).

I just suppose Doom 3 is ment to be like this, you cannot even hold a flash light and shoot at the same time. I think more effort has gone into the graphics and the 3D engine.

I just hope that Half-Life 2 makes up for Doom 3 which could have been a great FPS with more effort on game play.

I'm not a huge doom fan either i think you had to be around when it was something a little special you know Cool! You know when it was cool 2 have long hair and bell bottom trousers! you also had to of ridden a chopper to get what that was all about 2! The game has never interested me in the slightest |afro| Joking aside though i will try it and see!

i cant comment yet as i havent burnt the cds yet and have never played any of the doom games only quake and that was cool particulary quake 2 so i look forward to getting it on and having a crack at it |sad1| |bigsmile|

I think it's a superb game, and will buy it when it comes out. I think the flashlight thing is good, cos if you could use the light and the gun - you wouldn't crap yourself as much as you do!!

I love the look and feel of the game. Multiplayer is **** tho.

Actually, Doom3 let me down too. It's an amazing looking game, but it does lack gameplay a little. I'll likely buy it anyway when it's released, but it was WAY too easy on medium level - and it does get a little repetative. The maps are amazing, but unfortunately the shadows are still there on multiplay which means a campathon I think! Me and TS tried multiplay, but it was a bit dull. Fun for about 5 minutes, then just dull.

Doom3 let me down..

Imaging the scene- you bust a hump playing at Veteran level- you amass an ars*nal with (count em):-
300+Shoot Gun shells
8 BFG Rounds
95 !! Rockets

All the other weapons also up the ying yang- then what happens?

You go to the Hell level - and loose all the f***ing lot... Pants- Utter- Utter Pants.

So- I have found the cheats- I am going to the Hell Level again- blow away the four starting Imps- then Summon all of my lovely hardware.

Cheating? - if they placed all the Ammo I have amassed somewhere for me to get to then fine...

Run around with Fists/Chainsaw and Minimum usage of Gertie (Shotgun for those in the know)... at Vet level.. then lose the lot.. fun? nope.
