Not the most pleaseing game 2 the eye by any means! but the game play is second to none i've not had 6 hours sleep in 2 days now lol! Wasn't sure about it at all but after the first 30mins or so iwas hooked! saying that the longer you look at the thing more detail you see weird! |cowboy|

Really it's just kinda multiP i think! training is single person with bots and all that! the servers are all Novalogic! Basicly it's a Battlefield sorta game! The game are types different! there is king of the hill??! not played this! AAS assault and secure, this is what we've been playing you have 2 make an assault on a base and then hold it! this is the same for both teams!(bit like onslaught ut2004!) but with 150 players! TDM not played this either! The good thing about the game is it updates all the time so the map and gametype possa are endless really! My game updated as soon as i'd installed it! |toungue|

Love the 16x sniper rifle. Great to see that rebel fall back from that .50 cal gun last night after I shot him in the chest.....Love It

I also checked out Jolt they are doing the server hire for 16 - 150 players !!!

64 Player for 3 months = £288
80 Player for 3 months = £360
100 Player for 3 months = £450
120 Player for 3 months = £540
150 Player for 3 months = £675

goldie it dont work on I.P's you have to connect to Novaworld through the game! it has three regions, west coast usa, east coast or international !! you choose one of them three then it gives you a list of servers you can connect to! you also have to register with Novaworld so you need a valid cd key..

it's nice to play another game besides CoD and i think the online game element is nice, and i don't give a **** about campers and cheaters
on a server with more then 125 players there are plenty to kill
and i like the element of flying it's easy and doesnt need so much
handling like in BF

hope that i will have time to play cause i have way to much work and other things on my mind

I expected it to look worse than it does to be honest. I've got the graphics maxed out on everything and it looks pretty sweet, nice and clear detail. If theres a good bunch of you on (there was four of us on last night at midnight) its a lot of fun. Best part for me was having the lot of us crammed in that little Chopper and seeing a big, Hairy-assed rocket yowling towards us. Needless to say we all got out alive only to be picked off by a hidden sniper.

Yeah i wounld'nt be so fast to say that the graphics are all that bad now it's just different! My graphics card will not do all higest detail not sure why? it's an 9600pro 256 not the quickest thing on the planet but with all the settings optimized the screen detail is all black although the game is all there wierd any ideas fellas? |toungue|

Hmm, the 256 Mb that you have onboard the card will only really work on Textures. As far as I know one of the only games that'll make use of that size memory is Doom 3. Have you tried the latest Catalyst drivers?

Yeah, that could be the way forward. I know some MoHAA players find the game more stable using older drivers instead of the latest ones.

When the game first ran it said what graphics card you were using, try those default settings that they auto-detected?

This upgrade aint too early for me, up till now I was runnin a GF4 Ti4400 which I bough when reality was still in the clan!
Well the one I bought is the standard X800 but its overclocked so that it runs at the same speed as the X800, it runs doom 3 pearler at 1024x768 and I think it was on high settings
Goldie, hey man, aint heard from ya in ages, I couldn't possibly comment about that chip as Chipping PS2's totally became illegal about weeks ago and cuz I'm such a law abiding guy, I wouldn't wanna say nothin illegal :)

Oh yeah i've seen those Nvidia cards the 5900xt comes with a free hamster doesn't it? lol The X800 platinum edition runs three times the speed of the 9800xt! not that girlie really i want 1! 520mhz/1120mhz scarey! (PowerColour)

The fan of my new psu has started catchin on the circuit board and is making a right racket so I've had to swap back to my old psu and gfx card until I can take the new psu back on wednesday, doom 3 looks gash now.
Was running at 1024x768 at high, now I'm on 640x480 at medium :(
As for Joint Ops, I thought it was pants in comparison to Battlefield tbh

I enjoy a bit of meaningless time on Joint Ops, to me its a bit of "Throwaway" fun, good for short spaces of time.

Hairy: Peops haven't been filling the CoD server up because half the clan doesn't play it at the mo, Joint Ops is a recent thing and can not be tied in to recent population numbers falling.

Im inclined to agree wit hyou Hunter... I think BF is better than Joint Ops.. but a for a few hours fun its not bad...
I think the design of the maps plays a huge part in whether you like it or not.. The big open ones are a bit useless - too much sniping..

your both classless noobs tbh!! battlefield , you get in rev up take off then have to turn cuz your out off map lmao!! the lag on battlefield is enough to make even the most hardened gamer smash their adsl modem, and thats on a server running 30 peops, whilst you can fly around lag free on a 50 KM SQ map with another 149 peop and have no lag at all ! but hey it is all down to personal preference at the end of the day and BF1942 aint that bad!!

I have bowed down to the dark side and bought this game- some observations:-
1. NovaLogic! - this s/w company rocks- Tachyon being the Game I played for yonks (probably used the same 150 player server freed up).

2. Installation... 1.5 Gb .. lmfao! - I have received the character generation disks (not the full game mind) for EverQuest2- and this requires 6gb... so I can see why Im reading in the posts that the graphics are "basic" for Typhoon..

n/m - I have the game now (soz- did not go to Tessies- went to PC World because- hey wgaf- they are way more local)... so see you all online tonight- I want a Huey- and I want one now :)
