Went on an existing gam3rz server to test it out and had a ping of 70 and that was just 6 people - they all had highish pings..
Confirmed it was a gam3rz server with the clan on there.
In my opinion not a good option.
Uploaded screenie to gallery for viewing. (added it to the COD achievements gallery)

I've seen this mentioned loads of times recently. Why does a person with high latency increase everybody else's? They're potentially receiving less information than other users. The only problem I see with 'high pingers' is that they jump around the map a lot.
When I was playing quakeworld and everybody was on dial-up there was something about this being true but does it count anymore? |help|
