I am a little weak when it comes to this game I want to play it and I want it to be good. Confirmed release date for 18th. A friend i know who plays the beta every day who shared the same concerns says it has got alot better recently. Early access could start on the 28th. For those with collector editions.

Yep I am once again looking forward to it and unfortunately wow will take a bit of a back burner for me.

NDA should come down today, the Open Beta date has been announced and pre-orders start on the 28th (for Standard Edition/early access etc). WAR is finally in the last stretch of pre-release development.

Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning (best known in the MMO community as WAR) is finished and off to the magical disc-forging factory, preceding a public beta set to begin September 7, for which more than 800,000 players have registered. A very large, metal switch connected to what are surely fortress-like game servers will be flipped to the "fully on" position September 18, which is when the rest of the world will go to WAR.

Yeah I heard this in a games shop today. Was unfortunate enough to have asked a shop assistant who is mad on it. I was lucky to escape!

PCZone said something like "it pisses all over WoW" and they are going mad for it. I might give it a go!

Yeah I am putting wow on hold for now Probably end up playing both but My main time sink is going to be War from the 14th :)

collectors edition is 14th, normal preorder is 15th and normal is 18th

Yeah will do going to go on a core server, it has some non pvp areas, which will be nice.

As you know I was one of the BIG fan's championing this game, but I am not sure anymore.

I will give it a go (I still have the CE on order) but I just cannot get off WoW tbh.

Also once WotLK comes out then this game will take a back burner. All the stuff I have seen so far on WotLK just looks so cool, I think this time around blizzard will have a massive winner on their hands. I thought TBC was great, WotLK looks so much better and appeals to the casuals even more than TBC did.

PCZone just gave WOTLK a lukewarm reception where as WAR they are going crazy about. I've been a longterm reader of PCZone (10 years plus) and tend to believe what they say out of habit! Will probs give both a go anyway.

there will probably be quite a few WOWers in general trying out WAR while they wait for WOTLK as the raiding side of things now slows down in most guilds - I guess WAR will be hoping theirs is strong enough to stop people going back to WOTLK when its released...

Yeah I am really looking forward to the pvp aspect and quests being sent into a RvR sceniro even at level 1 :)

Well I cracked and got hold of the pre-order a few days ago, hopefully I'll get my first taste of beta later today.

Being into both this and 40k when I was growing up I'm looking forward to giving this a fair amount of time.

Everything so far I've seen/heard has been good, all kinds of nice ideas.
