Alot of details are slowing coming out of the Warhammer online camp. And I have to say the looting system looks alot of Fun.

Warhammer Online's "Vegas loot" system was demonstrated in one of the first public quests in the Dark Elf starting area. In a three-part sequence, players must battle High Elf infantry, then High Elf Mages and finally kill an enormous dragon. Once this happens players are then listed on an instant leader board with the player that contributed most to the public quest at the top and lesser players listed in order below. Beyond mere bragging rights, being higher on the leader board also imparts a bonus to the upcoming "roll" for loot. Said "roll" occurs with numbers spinning around on slot-machine style reels that slowly stop, revealing each player's number along with the "prize" they've won -- a color-coded bag based on the value of the loot inside. The process isn't over, however, because players still have to collect their bags from a treasure chest that literally drops out of the sky.

Now for me that sounds exciting. more so than just looting a corpse, which is okay buit every other game does that Smile And each character will get something from there loot table, ie if they are a warrior they won't get alot of mage crap.

They are also enhancing guilds alot in W:O. The guilds will have a ingame calender to plan events and raids, expanded roster space for member names and notes and a news tab. Like Lord of the rings, Guilds will also level up, giving certain rewards at each level.

Another Idea they have got from Lord of the rings is a tome of knowledge, ie. a kill counter and quest updater. But this of course goes further with a war updater. And updates your knowledge on exploring as well. Becuaew some of this is based on exploring you get what is called plungers, finding hard to reach areas, or working out new ways to get to some place. THus getting a special entry in your tome of knowledge.

Another example is an Empire NPC who spawns between midnight and 1AM and walks to a certain tent where he discusses betraying the Empire and joining Chaos. Killing the guardsman yields a key that will let the player into a wizard's tower that most people believe is just city decoration.

Yeah the vegas loot system does sound excellent. I like the concept of the colour bag loots and that if your a tank then in the bank will be something for you. Not some cloth crap that you have to discard.

Roll on open beta.
