I am thinking about a ranked for Lanarchy but it won't be from multiplay. Probably i3d.

True but I have found the i3d ones to be better in the beta than the rackage, But you never know I guess.

monthly with discounts if over a longer period, our dedicated server should be able to host np if we decide to go unranked

do we need a ranked server ? after all its only for online stats, doesnt make any difference gaming wise.

My impression was ranked servers get more public players... I know public games in ET:QW generally are not that great but it does help in recruiting.

Personally I am willing to stump up a bit more cash to get a ranked server to start us off. Anyone else in?

so the server fees we pay do not cover any additional qwet servers?

Sorry yes it does... on our dedicated box. If we want to go ranked we might have to rearrange things.

I mean't I would be will to pay more up front to get us a long term ranked server.

i think the way to go is go with the dedicated server, if we need to get a ranked server look at it then. My feeling is that ranked servers are going to be full of stat *****s, who are just going to play for xp, better to my mind to have a non ranked with a public comms ie vent or ts. Because comms are going to be vital, it will be a big bonus if we are looking attract the right type of players to be joining or playing on our server.

Yeah I have to agree I LNY won't be going ranked even if the server on the DS does not get busy. Apart from Ranks I see no point to it apart from extra cost. There is enough people buying it that we can all fill up a server easily enough. And once you have some people on more will always follow.
