Whoooooo we are getting closer.
I got the following e-mail today from PLAY:
Dear Customer,
We are writing to you in reference to your recent order for Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning.
It has come to our attention that some websites are reporting that play.com have sent out the beta access codes. Unfortunately this is incorrect, however we are due to send out our beta access codes soon and we estimate that they should be with you within 7-10 days. The Warhammer Online beta has yet to start and we will be sending the codes shortly so that they will be there in time for access to the beta when it opens.
Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your patience and valued custom.
Kind Regards,
Play.com

Okay had my first go at the beta on the weekend. After a hour I put it down and I will not be playing again till much later. Possibly Live launch.
The graphics are awfull, Worse than wow more like dungeon runner or D2. The gameplay is irritating, it doesn't have the zing. I think if I continued with it I would end up just hating the game.

Lestat,
I have been reading the betaleaks forums and lots of people are saying that the graphics lighting have not been impletemented yet and some resolutions have not been activated. I take it you was playing the latest beta code?
I am still holding out for it but if it does turn out to be crap then I will be gutted. Why can't anyone create a MMO that rivals WoW I don't understand it.
Altho I am back on WoW and enjoying myself again :)
Roll on WotLK.....

Yes I to am looking forward to WOTLK.
It is the latest Beta client but they are right the lighting is non-excistant, but not sure on resolutions I am playing in my normal windowed 1600v1050.
The problem will be that wow is so polished and no game ever coming it is going to be as playable or as polished for the first 6 months.
For me the graphics will break the game for me. If they don't improve about 10x I won't be playing it. I can understand the game play being annoying as it is beta, And I tried my mates lvl 21 Bright wizard.
And the witcher was good you just have crap taste in games :)

I think WotLK will be great, it's just a shame your not on Bronzebeard :)

Well, after a lengthy break I have reactivated one of my accounts on Bronzebeard to scratch that WoW itch. When I got online to find the whole guild has moved to the Draenor realm!
So if anyone has room for a Resto shammy let me know...

There may have been a good game buried somewhere in there but I just couldnt get past the crap acting and character gestures. Something else that *really* got on my nerves was the ommision of a jump button so that 2 foot high fences were used to keep you in an area. I have no issue with a wall, cliff face etc as a boundry, but when a guy that can battle a 6ft high monster with his bare hands cant climb over a 2ft high fence I just can't sink myself in :D

Well, I got accepted to the Closed Beta five days ago.
I only finished downloading the Client this morning (bloody peer-to-peer), I have to say, with just an hours playing-time that I like it, I plumped for a Chaos Magus and am currently doing quests in the Empire's nearby village, very atmospheric.
True that the graphics are not "all that", but then it is Beta, and I've definetly encountered connection problems but I all too clearly remember when WoW first came out there was a plethora of connection issues (skateboarding around WC on my knees comes to mind).
WoW didn't become a "polished" game for a long time, but Blizzard kept on working on it with patches and I'm hoping that EA Mythic do the same with this.
I've got open Beta and early access codes for the American Realms so I'm quite excited about this game, bring it on!
