Winrar or ......

I've downloaded a few files that I think will constitute a film once put together, the only problem is I have no idea what to do with em. There are 18 files with so many PAR2 recovery volumes, I've checked the files using the PAR2 and it says they are ok but I can't get em to do anything. The filenames including the extensions are: moviename.avi.001 , it says its a 001 file and the same goes for the other files in numerical order 002, 003 etc. I thought I used Winrar to put em together but its not having none giving me the message "the archive is either in unknown format or damaged".
Is it damaged or do I need another program? I'm using Winrar 3.20.

try to rename 001 to .rar and then do it again

I wouldnt rename them.

They will be linked rar files that you can open in WinRAR. Open one of them and extract to a directory of your choice, WinRAR will then take the data from all of these RAR files.

Make sure all these RAR's are all in the same directory before starting mind.

he allready did try winrar so i was just saying try to rename them
and shouldn't be there a .rar or .000 file to begin with

Not all the time, it depends what settings where used when compressing then splitting the file.

Renaming them will confuse winRAR. The cataloging details will become messed up, rendering them useless.

Erm, the help was appreciated but I've deleted em anyway. It wasn't a big movie or anything it was only about 40 meg but I got hold of the latest WinRar and it said there was something in there that shouldn't so I buggered em off.
