Well, i've come to the conclusion that although EAX sounds fantastic, it's just not worth the trouble. Creative recommend that you install your PC without virtual IRQ's as cleanly as possible for it to work.

Unfortunately, with CoD, the EAX support is utter ****e. So regardless of how much processor power you have, it still sounds shifty. better drivers from Creative may help this tho.

I must admit, ive just moved to headphones from warfedale panel speakers and its much better - getting a sense of being there more now. Whats a good pair of headphones to get? Mine are now on the way out of the door (I think I had them when I was 14, Im now 30 !!!)

I still say Microsoft Gamevoice headphones are ace. Although Jodo got surround ones for around £70 or so which are apparently damn fine.

I go with £30 and get gamevoice tho. Depends how much dough you got.

Aah, the thing is the Gamevoice ones which we all invested in are made by Plantronics. I'm pretty certain that Gamevoice is now dead and unsupported so I got another set of headphones without the Microsoft tag on em from here (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/Plantronics.html) (thats in Fenton just off Duke St btw) or I got these (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/zalman_headsets.html) from the same place, also bear in mind that when I bought my Zalman they were twice that price. I think that Firebox or Boysstuff also do Surround-Sound Headphones with a Microphone called "Medusa".
Hope that helps

Also note that the Zalman have no mic on them, I use my Plantronics round me neck with the mic pointing vertical by me mouth but the sound you get out the headphones is phenomenal.
