Worth buying?

Im looking at investing in an Xbox 360 (not interested in the PS3 or Wii) and im just wondering is it worth the £300 id have to spend? Is Xbox live an active community? Are the games worth it?

I'll have to admit im a bit of an Xbox fanboy and would be buying the console mainly for Gears of War and the not yet released Halo 3.

To cut a long story short, is it worth the £300?

Well, although it's a great console - I don't use mine much anymore. HOws about I chuck something else into the pot....

I recently bought a Nintento DS. Now, before you laugh it up, listen carefully.

I'd recommend getting the following....

- Nintendo DS Lite (http://www.gamestation.co.uk/product.asp?id=dsh002) (£99)

- R4 DS cartridge (http://www.mrmodchips.co.uk/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=43&products_id=435&osCsid=813144c7c7f388538cfa73b3e70d5251) (English version) (£32.99)

- 2GB Micro SD card (http://www.memorybits.co.uk/shop/micro-sd--transflash/sandisk-2gb-micro-sd--transflash-card-plus-adapter-sdsdqu2048e10m/4318) (£13.98)

With all these three things, you can run *anything* on your DS. Which means, if you have access to the internet - the world is your oyster (if you catch my meaning). Very worthwhile, has some great games. If you have wireless in your house you can play against other DS users - or even if you know someone else with one.

At around £150 for all three items above, it's worth every penny I think!

hmm... xbox360>nintendo ds =/... yeh mate a 360 is a hardcore machine, online is a damn good feature, especially shooting games such as GoW and ghost recon. i also enjoy fifa 07 :) get it n add me :)

Online play with 360 is ok, if you don't mind idiot americans online. They all seem to be young kids with foul mouths.

Tbh i was only looking on the console side of things rather than a handheld.

Don't know really - I didn't think about selling it till just now. That alone should tell you how much I dont use them anymore!

I think consoles have died for me. Doesn't seem to matter how good graphics and gameplay are, I lose interest quickly.

I actually haven't switched mine on since they started banning - but I don't actually care. XBLive is crap.
