Just another little tool like JT's EndItAll, this time its for Interent Explorer. If you find your browser is getting a load of crap installed and you are not sure what spyware is on it, run this app. Basically it reverts IE back to its basic install, something even IE has a problem doing.

Just run the exe and do a scan, the check everything you see, the "Fix Checked".

I ran it on my work machine and removed EVEYTHING, inc my google toolbar, and its runs a damn site faster. You can then reinstall anything you want back on.

I take no responsibility for any damage done to your machine by using this.

BTW I found it best to remove EVERYTHING and start from scratch, rather than try and identify specific things to remove.

be verry carefull with this program

iff you forget to make a backup and restart your PC after you've done all that you will find out that your norton antivirus is no longer working in systemtray
and when you'll check that you will see it's no longer enabled and you have to reinstall that ***** program again |firegun3| |firegun3| |firegun3| |firegun3|

Another cool programme (and free) if you hate spyware, hijackers and other malicious software is Spybot Search & Destroy (SSD) (http://www.safer-networking.org/)

Also, open up IE, navigate through Tools > Internet Options > Advanced tab.
Take out the checks from Enable Install On Demand (Other) and Enable Install On Demand (Internet Explorer).

Why these are checked as default options I will never understand. You are inviting trouble if left as it is.

Time for a slug of Grouse methinks. |beer|

Yea Goldie I noticed this is work, it also might delete your startup list... but it does work well if you have other ppl using your machine, e.g. kids...

For the record, I always have used virus software, it was just because at GO my machine was built THAT DAY at Jodos and didnt have my software with me.

I am running a fully working copy of Norton AV 2004...

yeah, apart from this thing wiping out the registry Run keys, it works really well. In fact, even that may be handy for gettin rid of some viruses!

OK before I run this application, my IE was handing everytime you clicked a link. For about 3 to 4 seconds, the browser would not respond and seem to crash, and then all of a sudden start working. On shutting my machine down just after doing this, I noticed a app called "wildtangent.exe" was not responding.

After a quick search I found this link...

http://www.spy-review.com/10/wild-tangent-spyware.html

After reviewing firewall logs it seems that my machine was making repeated attempts to connect to a IP outside my work firewall. It seems the firewall blocked this and caused the spy-ware app to timeout after 3 - 4 seconds of waiting for a response, this explains the locking of IE. I have found a lot of people saying "my browser does that but I thought it was the internet was slow", it seems to be on alot of machines.

My advice is run this thing anyway, and then fix anything side effects it has. The only reason this showed up is the spy-ware could not connect to its server, alot of ppl could have this on and not know it.

Finally, I don't know if its just a strange coincidence but Wild Tangent Games also have something to do with the penguin flash game everyone is playing.
