View Full Version : BF2 Freezing Up
Red Plague

Its started since I installed the patch, after a while if I get into a fast moving bit of the map (e.g. flying, racing about in the FAV) the game will start to slow down, eventually loosing portions of the textures and generally fcuking up.
It seems to clear if I alt and tab out and in. Its almost like my grphics card is overheating but I don't think it is.
Looks like I am going to have to reinstall and see if that will fix it.
Anyone else see this?

Have you tried updating punkbuster?
I know it seems weird, but PB appears to be responsible for alot of the problems experienced by users

Yea I did it the other night, and deleted the cache files.
Its bloody annoying.
Think I might format my machine and start from scratch.

This is similar to the frames per second post I made. Its ok for a bit, but in heavy combat I get these wierd jerky moments and it seems to lock for couple of seconds at a time. Don't get texture problems though. Gotta try mine again though after making some changes & I haven't tried the Punkbuster update.

yer use the omega drives they are a lot better i have tesed both ATI and Omega and i got to say omega win hands down i get about 59-69 FPS wich is ok all set to medium .
As to the rest of the lag i this is all to fermiler story with EA stuff BUT and i will say this i am sure they will fix it as they did with BF that used to lag like a little Beiatch but after patch No3 i think it was one of the lest lagy games to play even with very high ping rates.
So yes it,s very very anoying(and no it sould be good right out the box) butit an't though i am sure it will get sorted

I tried those before, but was getting a lot of screwed textures & glitches on all games so I switched back to the ATI reference drivers.
