.... was caused seemingly by Team Speak believe it or not. I was getting a solid 400 - 600ms ping to a DNS server I normally use to test my latency (normally get 9ms to 13ms ping), and it was bad in BF2.
Tried a router restart as that sometimes gives me bad latency if its been up for a couple of months, but to no avail. Then disconnected & reconnected TS and the ping -t I had open instantly dropped to around 10ms! Could have been an ISP problem that was fixed at that exact time by coincidence, but it sure looked like TS was the problem!
Anyways, gonna try again tonight.
