From multiplay...

Under advisement from EA and due to the on going issues with the 1.01 patch all Multiplay UK and EA UK servers have been rolled back to version 1.0

All clients will need to reinstall BF2.

We are sorry for the inconvenience but believe this is in the best interests of our customers and the community.

Wtf now this sucks balls so we need a reinstall are games right? back to the lag city :mad: :mad: :mad: |sad1| :(

So i was right there was a mem leak this has been known about from day one and not just in this update

Remember the other night we where on and the server restarted for no apparent reason???

That was clanforge restarting the server as too much memory had leaked.

You'd have thought they have just spent some time to try and fix the issue and give us another patch rather than making however many hundreds of thousands of customers reinstall. This sucks balls.

I had to go and scrounge a DVD drive again to reinstall it. DOes anyone have the latest copy of Alcohol 120? BF2 uses safedisk 4 protection and my copy only does versions 1 & 2.

Yeah i have it and ive uploaded it to ftp server.

Niiiice! How comes when the memory reaches its peak then drops back down (and I presume the drop back is a server crash & restart?) the players don't drop? or is that just a map change and it clears the mem?

*edit* nevermind, think i can see a trough behind the memory spike that indicates a drop of players. Didn't notice that it was the week view so any drop will hardly be seen on that.

Looking at EA's page they say they are going to release a hotfix for 1.01 so i'm just gonna wait on that rather than do a reinstall (hoping it will be in the next day or two?) I'm a lazy git on stuff like that.

Nooooooooooooooooooo Format your computer, uninstall the game burn the thing but do something otherwise that means a few days of W.O.W and all of the above would be better than that

Thanks to your kind words, I saw the light and reinstalled. Praise be upon you for guiding me through this most difficult time.

The intermittant crash my machine suffers is getting worse though so I need to start work on that *grumble* Hoping its software, but looks more like hardware. Gonna try re-seating stuff first.
