ye it dose remind me to of jo abit but the feel of it is diffrant its always hard to judge it on a one map demo and after all the usual hype but the more i play it the more i like it this is deff my sort of game

Personaly not impressed by it. Call me a difficult person but i think the graphics look kinda cheap, specially the nature models (trees, gras, brushes). Compaired to the older versions graphics have improved alot tho. Just not like i expected it would. I still think CoD has better graphics.

And like all previous versions the game is unplayable on highest settings. Tried at 1600x1200 on highest settings no AA with forceware 71.90. Result 1 frame per 4 sec or something. Changing driver to 77.30 (the one that came with the demo) does not imrove fps. No, it even ****s the fps for CoD now forcing me to install me favorite forceware version again (71.90).
Heres ma specs: p4 2.6 HT, fx6800gt, 1024ddr400 dual apacer, maxtor sata hd

There is also something wrong with the keybindings. There is no way i can bind the del, ins, home or end keys!?!?? Also trying to bind the mouse axis to "roll" instead of "pitch" fails...

Gameplay now. It has improved thats true, but they still havnt made leaning possible or swimming sideways. I do like the sprint option and the medic feature. When ur shot and waiting to spawn a medic can heal you again.

So overall i think its alot better then bf1942 and bfv but still not what i expected it would be. I will buy it in the end cuz im sick of playing bfv POE mod. But it will be for pure pleasure and a good laugh.

For serious battering my hopes are set to CoD2.

to sort the key binds u need to do this .
Go to
My Documents\Battlefield 2 Demo\Profiles

Open up Global.con

Note which profile it's using (I Default, 0001 and 0002 and mine was set to 0002)

Open up Controls.con

If you look at the top line for each subsection, it says Infantry, Land, Air, Helicopter, Sea, and Default. Each is pretty self explanatory with the exception of Default. I believe this is what ingame calls "Common".

The bound key is at the end of the line

IDKey_Key Name Here

Delete the whole line of the occupied keys you want to change. OR Change it to an unused key of your choice. Some of them were probably taken out last minute (like Left Alt was set to Toggle 3D Map but there is no way to change that ingame. and X is set for Flare in Sea. Can you even fire a flare in a boat? I never tried.)

Save the file.

Now you can bind them ingame.

also regarding the graphics being crap.... Well then u must have a gash pc... What the demo does when loading is try to optermise the game play with what shizzle you got in your pc...

I have every thing on full whack and it looks lubbly! - 100times better gfx then cod:uo!!!

I think 32 would be enough, but we would need to upgrade our current server as its max limit if 32.

Personally I have found the 64 player servers jumpy as the net code still needs to be smoothed out.

Whats the options with r Uber server? Might need some sort of vote to see how many people are interested in paying for a BF2 server.

well got to say i played on 16,32 and 64 and not really noticed any codeing lag. Even if there is im sure in the goodness of time it will be patched wot game has't been???.
I prefer 64 because there is more action and when you capture a base it makes it a reall challenge to keep it .And i found there is a form of coopertion going on in the game with squads that is a refreashing change for an online game.
As to the server it really depends on wot every one ealse wants there are still lots who like COD .
Though i think its BF2 all the way for me .

For the bigger uber server it's like double the cost. If we were gonna do that, may as well get a second uber server. At the moment, i'd be interested in playing BF2 - but wouldn't be interested in coughing up for a server. I wont be online that much.

downloaded this damn demo twice from Spuddy's link and once from xfire and there is no bloody way i can make this damn thing damn work ! damn it i am damned !
the screen goes dark for a few seconds and then, after a flash, i go back on my desktop as nothing happened.... the problem is that what hapenned was two damn days of downloading (yeah, xfire takes ages and it didnt help on the lags)......
does anybody knows if there is some graphic card that arent accepted ? i had the same problem with brothers in arms, but at least i had the sound..... this is irrating me seriously.... :mad: damn it.....
