Hi all
Can anyone help me please. My multiplayer doesn't work! It causes a crash in NTDLL.DLL? - on clicking the icon, even in safe mode - but single player works fine.
I found this;
With activision cod mp support (https://activision.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/activision.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_sid=N-62AjZg&p_lva=&p_faqid=11683&p_created=1067966930&p_sp=cF9zcmNoPTEmcF9ncmlkc29ydD0mcF9yb3dfY250PTEyN CZwX3NlYXJjaF90ZXh0PSZwX3NlYXJjaF90eXBlPTMmcF9wcm9 kX2x2bDE9MSZwX3Byb2RfbHZsMj0zNjEmcF9zb3J0X2J5PWRmb HQmcF9wYWdlPTI*&p_li=)
Using the +set cl_motd 0 switch i was able to see the error message which came up as "Your version of Microsoft Windows(TM) does not support Call of Duty."
I'm running Windows XP Professional so maybe that's it?
Other than that I have an AMD 1800xp chip and a GeForce4 Ti 4600 graphics card. All latest drivers and updates. I tried running with my firewall disabled so I'm pretty sure it's not that.
Please help. If anyone can solve this I'll be their bitch for a whole month, hehe. :D Although this is no laughing matter :|

thats not the problem m8 cause i worked with XP PRO and did not had any of those
only thing is that the video driver i had where not good so i hat to step down to older version
do you have the original game or copy m8
otherwise try to reinstall the game but first delete the old version
and iff you have copy you might need the multiplayer patch for the game

U don't want to hear this but I would try a fresh install of XP as well...

Install windows only, basic drivers only, then install COD and try it, if it works, add drivers one at a time and test in between.

Try stepping down to version 45.23 of the nvidia drivers. Maybe this will help.

At least my 3D glasses will now work again if I decide to just have a J and spectate. :D

What about direct x? Have you installed the latest version? Is it an original or cracked version?
A format is what I would do, rule out any random damage to the operating system. A fresh install (on a fresh disk) would mean no outside interference from other apps. Windows XP will load with standard graphics drivers, install the game with nothing else and run it (install direct x but it comes with the game). If it runs, you have a basis to work from and you can build you drivers up, continuously retesting to find what breaks it. If it doesnt work on a fresh boot you can rull out drivers.
If you have a small harddisk floating about, connect it up and install a clean version of windows and try it.
You need to rule out operating system damage, its happened to me a couple of times, bad registry entries with the MS core, or a dodgey driver staying on. YOu would be surprised what can cause a failure.

No cracks and original disks I'm beginning to think RP may be right. |crying|
In that case I'll hold off and get a new pc with a 'swappable' hard drive, like some of you guys have, but that might not be until christmas. :(

Something bad and nasty has happened and RP is probably right, I will need to reinstall OS. Can't afford to do that whilst clients may want support as too much stuff is on my pc. I'm looking to upgrade over the christmas period.
Rest assured I will be online eventually even if I need to invest in a new PC, :D

joker ...theres a internet site out there that has all the dll files at its finger tips if you have a dll error it usually means that the program cant find a perticular dll file to run, if you use the search it will more than likly find it but it may not be were it is supposed to be? have you installed somthing else since you installed c.o.d.? if so that may be the program that did it? but if you download the dll file from the internet you can replace it but it means a manual instalation, i aint that clever ...when it happened to me a while ago i had to reformat and start from scratch but i didnt know about the dll files that you can download then so give it a try if you havent got it running yet? i cant remember the site i thught i had it in my favorites but it isnt there so just put up th question in some search engines and keep your fingers crossed, good luck |ithink| |xmas|
