For all those interested, Belkin have just released a new improved version of the SpeedPad, the n52.

Its only release in America & Canada and they are selling EXTREMELY quickly. The best retailer I could find is linked above, those nice people are sending me one as we speak.

It goes on sale late Dec / early Jan, at the UK price of £29.99. If you want it early, mine is costing me about £42 inc shipping from the states.

The biggest problem with the old one is the lack of buttons, this one solves that problem and more...

Hmmm I didn't like it at first, but theres better pictures on the web and I think it looks better than the first.

Speedpads are odd things, either you love'em or you hate'em.

I swear by them, then again some people can't stand them.

It's got one extra button above the thumb 'joystick' and a thing to rest your what? flat to the deck... go faster colors.. yuk... give me the black- (when you press it a black light comes on and a message in black against a black background says "don't press this button again") Nostromo..... cough - sorry Nurse meant to take my medication earlier... chomp.. gurgle...

Looks pants with a extra button and a place to rest an extraneous apendage... whats the point?

Btw- I can see the extra four buttons (cough) on the main keyboard- but stretching the digits to span the first two rows of keys would probably put a stop to my finger painting...

I totally agree with Mhyv. I reckon the Nostromo 'Gaypad' just spawns hordes of "I can't play with normal keyboard and mouse" bendy-ass n00bs.

Just arrived this morning... will be on l8tr to try it out...
