Are we ready to join the many and play CS:S on a league level, I would like you comments/thoughts or is this a pipe dream.....

I have a very good CS:S player called Mr Plow who may be interested in joining if we went this way.

In a couple of months (possible sooner), the new site engine will be ready - and we'll be able to play clan games for any gametype/game which is popular.

So yeah, we could do that. It was after all, a STUNNING victory against the mighty air clan! (You can tell when you've done well in a game cos they storm out quickly!)

I think CS (Source or otherwise) will see an inevitable return from me. It's getting popular in the clan now ... especially from people that have avoided UO.
So as and when (not if) we go competitive with CS I'd like to beef up the numbers a bit. :)

Clanbase league for CS doesnt look that good/busy for a game that is one of the most popular. I think the CUPS do well though.. perhaps there is a more happening league for CS somewhere..?

you need a high level of n00bn3ss to qualify.
HL2 gives you CS:Source with your Seam Account. Not sure if you can get it any other way - you can prolly d/load from Steam if you just want Source. As for 1.6 I think that has to be purchased.

yeh there are other leagues ask hax, i dont think we shold rush into the whole cs thing even though i like it, wait for the new site and server i say :) till then praccy the camping

well there is no point in entering us officially into leagues and that, but we can get many PCW's, they are so easy to find with counterstrike. We can easily play on other servers, with my experience in #air.clan i have gained alot of match experience and tactics for various maps! when there a few of us on we just say we wanna PCW and ill get one on IRC for us!

(1) If I go out and buy HL2 how do I go about getting a steam account?
(2) Is there an additional charge?

(4) Is it Source that's being played by everyone at the moment or 1.6?

1. There is all the stuff u need for a steam account on the hl2 disk
2. no is there charge could u see jt paying to play it (though he prob would now)
3. It is on disk but u will have to update from steam and that crap

5. duno the normal one it updates auto :)

How do you mean exactly, Phil? Do you mean "we" as in the clan? If so, I'm not so sure. I mean, CS is presently an unofficial distraction from CoD. If it becomes more mainstream (and admittedly that is the general consensus when we go multi-game) then it will only be those that choose to play it that play it.
But then there will be other games we play that will also have their own politics. Rome: Total War, for example, probably has issues but they won't really reflect on us.
I don't think a game can exclusively reflect on the clan that chooses to play it. :)

I found it too campy
I find some maps on CoD and some players "too campy" ... as opposed to Tom who I just find too camp. ;) That's never going to go away in any FPS. But if you're a player that plays more of a rush style of game it makes it very rewarding when you knock 'em down. :)

Too true wot online decent shotem up game can u play where there are not campers(CS.s/COD/COD OU/BF1942/MOH to name just a couple) u just got to Deal with it i personly don't give a rats ass if somone camps or not spec if there sniping thats the nature of there tool as ido if im plating certain maps in certain game its fun to stalk some one with a sniper cos u know it justt pisses them off big time LOOOOOOOL

I saw that one coming to be honest. EVERYONE dislikes CS for the first few times of playing. And yes, people camp - but if you're a good player it makes no difference whether the opposition camp or not.

And once again, how can you judge how 'we've changed' if you never play the games that the rest of us play! Im not interested in CS as a clan game, but I like to play if for the fun factor.

Knew you'd hate it though. Just like TS, and just like CoD UO, you ain't given it a real chance!

CS is absolute crap, there's no doubt. But it can be fun crap to play - especially if you're with a bunch of clan mates. Check Cluster out man... every time he plays he says he hates CS, but he keeps comin back! :)

I must admit CS I find no way near as good as CS:S, must be something about the source engine that makes the game much for fun and better to play. For me anyway....

I have to also confess I am enjoying CS:S a lot even though I am crap at it.

As for CoD:UO you may also have noticed I have not played this for sometime as again I was begining to it a bit boring. I also must admit I still like CoD better.

Don't get me wrong CoD:UO and Gray Matter have done a very good job at the expansion pack but I think the first CoD is still better. Again for me anyway.

I will at some point end up playing CoD:UO again sometime but for now it's CS:S for me.

i started playing online with CS but Cs.s is better the game looks better plays a little nicer too(Can i use the word nice HUM enyhoo).
Clusters' right i get board with game just like him COD and UO do my head from time to time somin about the repatision of it.
Its nearly really good but not quite and ill go play somin ealse for a bit but bottom line is i like playing with my m8s online and even if i am board to the back teeth with a game theres nothing better than when every one is online taking the piss and having a laugh

I would be grateful if anyone (Coldie) could sort me out with some binds to buy things (assuming these are still OK to have set-up in ones config?).

I'm looking for 4 binds that will do the following:
(1) Buy MP5 + Armour + HE Gren
(2) Buy MP5 + Armour (without helmet)
(3) Buy P90 + Armour + HE Gren
(4) Buy P90 + Armour (without helmet)

... assistance would be superb.
Also, can anyone tell me if the hitboxes in Source are massively different from UO. I sometimes find myself ambushing peeps with a Colt from behind, unloading into them, only to have them turn around and do me with a pistol (without headshot). Seems like bollocks to me ... but if there's a reason I need to know it fast. :)
