Do you have Daemon Tools, Alcohol 120% or another virtual drive program?
If so try disabling it then running the game. It's something to do with the copy protection on the CD not liking virtual devices.

Have to confess, mine was from PC World for £35, couldn't be arsed to order it, picked it up while working a couple of hundred yards away from the store.

Dont you think its a bit steep though? If you can get it off play.com for cheaper - where does the difference go?

Shops like PC World have massive overheads to consider when pricing games up.
Companies like play.com have no shop as such, there just a warehouse with pickers/packers.
Agreed a tenner on a game is a little excessive but....
The games worth it.

Not complaining, just curious.. I understand the online thing is cheaper too. The game is most definitely worth the dosh mind !

yes indeed i had alchohol installed
and removed it just like activision told me to do
and for some reason it work's fine now
but now i have to put alchohol back on the system and remove and so on and on
so i decided to put the single player crack in the dir
otherwise i cant burn any dvd's
or have to search for another program again LOL

considering my reliance on alcohols virtual drive system, I would have just used a no cd patch for the game, u should still be able to play online anyway cuz the servers only check your cd key not the exe file

You only need to diasable the virtual drive.... not uninstall Alcohol.
My Computer -> Right click the virtual drive -> Disable
Then re-enable it afterwards.
considering my reliance on alcohols virtual drive system
Que! - It's not just alcohol it's all Virtual Devices.. and it's caused my the copyright protection ... not the virtual device.

I had originally pre-ordered it from play then cancelled when Phil pointed out to me that play normally deliver 2-3 days after the release coupled with the problem of royal mail strikes
I bought it last saturday from my local GAME store for 30 notes
